![]() ![]() The great thing about Mecanim is that humanoid animations work directly on any other humanoid character as long as you set it up right. Then download animations from Mixamo (UAS or ) and import them as well. Or you can just import your DAZ character to Unity and define it as humanoid. Apply motion to genesis 1 in Daz studio, and save as Pose preset (.duf) saving all frames Load G3/8 Apply that animated pose preset to G3/8. ![]() apply the animation of your choice and download the Motion data. This will work when imported into DAZ Studio, but still only with the Genesis 1 figure. We have a tutorial for Daz > Mixamo animations here. Upload the default nude, Original genesis 1 figure to Mixamo. The thing to pick for exports from Mixamo nowadays is FBX 6.1 with skin. As soon as I figure it out, or if I get a handy tip from a fellow user, I’ll update this article. Then you are ready to retarget all the needed animations (open the created IK Retargeter asset and use the export option on the desired animations). I’ve been experimenting with importing the FBX into Blender, which works, however the bone structure is all wonky and I have no idea how to even it out – nor how to then export the data back so that DAZ Studio can understand it. To run the tool: select a Mixamo skeleton asset and execute the Retarget Mixamo Skeleton Asset contextual action. Although the Genesis character is still importable into Mixamo without issues, DAZ Studio no longer shows anything when the FBX file is imported. It appears that Mixamo have changed the FBX format upon export, to something that’s currently not supported in DAZ Studio (4.12.1 at the time of writing).
